This project examines how photography has been used in different ways to promote housing reform in Chicago, from the late 1800s to today. These images create a visual narrative about the problems of affordable housing and the need for policy reforms. This study shows how this narrative has shifted drastically over time. It explores available photographic archives and projects that provide different perspectives on affordable housing in Chicago.
